How to use and care for our horn comb

Proper Use

For tangles and snags in your hair, hold the comb vertically as shown in the left diagram, and gently comb through the tangle using the tip of the comb (detangling knife) in a vertical direction.

Do not force the comb through the tangles or snags.

Improper Use

Forcing the comb through tangles or snags without using the tip (detangling knife) can damage your scalp, cause split ends, and damage the comb. Damage to the comb from improper use is not covered under warranty.

Care Instructions

This horn comb is made from natural materials, using the horns of animals (cattle, sheep, buffalo) safely raised on organic farms in Australia. Animal horns are made of keratin, the same material as human hair and nails. Therefore, soaking the comb in water for extended periods will cause it to soften, similar to human nails.

If you use the horn comb on wet hair, thoroughly dry it with a towel and store it in a dry place.

If the comb gets dirty, use a felt cloth or other fabric to clean the dirty areas, including between the teeth, to keep it clean.

Important Notes

  • Do not leave the comb in direct sunlight or in a car. This can cause the comb to warp.
  • Do not leave the comb by the pool or in the bathroom. This can cause the comb to absorb moisture and soften.
  • Do not expose the comb to temperatures above 80 degrees Celsius, such as from a hairdryer. This can cause the comb to deform.
  • Do not bang the comb against concrete or tile surfaces. This can cause the comb to chip.
  • Avoid using the comb with hair oils, leave-in treatments, waxes, or other hair products. These products can cause hair strands to swell, interfering with the comb’s natural function and making it difficult for the cuticles to close.
  • Before using the horn comb, wash out any hair products and use it on natural hair.
